Stayed here two nights, ate at all the restaurants, gambled a bit.
Would stay again but nothing to rave about.
HOTEL: We stayed in a tower room on the 10th floor.
Heads up: in the tower rooms there are only ice machines on odd numbered floors so if that's important to you, consider that in your room placement.
As for the room itself, everything was clean but spartan.
There was an insane amount of free space in our king room and if the TV was any smaller it would be the size of my monitor at work.
Lighting was also super dim.
Temperature control was also impossible.
Tried to set it back and 20 minutes later we're sweating.
Completely bipolar HVAC system lol.
Bed was comfy enough but the linens are a bit starchy.
Towels are also scratchy.
Lol Most of the towels were also lightly stained.
Toilet paper and Kleenex in the bathroom are also cheap quality and scratchy, reminiscent of the variety you would find in a gas station bathroom.
There were cracks on the lampshade lining for both lamps in the room.
None of this is a big deal, but it does just give you the impression that they don't pay attention to the details.
Its https://filmman.ru/black/black-jack-poker-game.html they are not interested in maintenance at all and the room only looks nicer because most of it is newer stuff.
To sum it up, the tower rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet but since they don't seem to have an eye for the details it's probably only a matter of time before they get trashed.
CASINO: Smoky like all MN casinos.
The slots are a bit tight but they have a good variety of them as well as some table games.
Played a bit of Bingo while there and it was fun but they aren't that great about explaining things.
Thankfully we did the electronic bingo so it did black bear casino in minnesota the work for us but could it have killed the caller to be more bit explicit about what game we were playing was?
Also the security is on a power trip.
And as flattering as it is to get carded like a teenager for casino entry, it got to the point where it was excessive.
I would leave the casino area, wave at the guard as I was leaving then walk back in 5 minutes desert gameplay black online only to have the same guard card me.
In total I'm pretty sure I was carded 40ish times over two and a half days for casino entry.
At the same time, I was yelled at for trying to take my pop back up to the room because it "could have alcohol".
I get being a stickler about compliance but if they're going to be that in my face about it, they black bear casino in minnesota a better system- wristbands maybe?
At one point I took my phone out to take a picture of a slot wining to send my boyfriend and I was immediately lectured about how it's illegal to take a picture of a slot machine.
That's a first, never heard of that law.
RESTAURANTS: Sage Deli was cheap quick eats, freezer quality meals basically.
Coffee shop was basically caribou but with a barista who was ridiculously in my face about soliciting a tip "here let me put your cc receipt to sign over here on the opposite side of the counter by the tip jar".
Went to the buffet for breakfast.
Not sure if it's the "best in MN" but it's a step or two above OCB but at OCB prices.
Cobalt Cabernet Saturday night had a fun live band and the bartenders were nice so we parked ourselves at the video poker machines at the bar and soaked up the atmosphere.
It was also less smoky in there.
We also had a click at this page nice dinner at the seven fires steakhouse.
Food there was genuinely good and that was the only place where it felt like the staff actually cared about their job.
Everywhere else the staff was nice but apathetic except for at the Steakhouse where the waitstaff was super professional and genuinely took pride in their work.
OVERALL: I feel like we get better service, better win odds and nicer rooms at TI or Mystic but they are also more expensive so it works out.
Honestly I'd give it a zero if possible.
The casino area looks nice and fancy, but the hotel accommodations were awful.
The worst part was the smell.
Smoke odor everywhere even in our no smoking room.
The heater was horrible.
Super hot with no adjustments other than off.
The shower made strange noises when turned on and wasn't very strong.
The carpeting was worn.
Paint on the walls was scraped and the furniture very dated and old.
The pillows were flat and the mattress was rock hard.
The only positive I have is the price.
If cheap is your thing and you're a smoker, you may be satisfied.
We stayed on the 9th floor.
Check in Sunday check out Wednesday.
Our room was decent, I would of preferred if the room would have been dusted because I was sneezing like crazy.
They would of got 5 stars from me if they would of took the extra time to dust the room.
I did appreciate all the pillows and comfy bed.
Tv was small but that's ok I didn't go there to watch tv anyway.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The golf read more was so much fun and everyone that working in the clubhouse and on the coarse went above and beyond their job titles to help serve us!
They were all great.
The ranger was so kind and friendlygiving my pointers on my golf swing and finding my lost balls for me so we could stay on the game.
I will returnbut next time I'll bring my own duster It's a curious place!
About 2 hour drive from the twin cities.
Hotel room was certainly dated with small t.
There didn't appear to be a master plan as they continue to update the facility.
From the hotel - you take a number of hallways and corners until you finally arrive at the casino.
They have a buffet, steak house and a night club.
We ate at the buffet, it was very small but clean.
The layout of the three stations created some confusion with people bumping into each other with full plates leaving and empty plates arriving.
Casino has a variety of slots available- most of them are older models with a few of the newer ones.
They also have about 5 or so blackjack tables and a large bingo room.
If your driving up north - the casino in Hinkley is a better bet - but if you want to try your luck somewhere else this is as good a stop as any.
Not sure if we will be back though.
So free black gold online was impossible to control the temp in our room, went down to the pool and the hot tubs don't work.
Stopped for coffee and they don't open until 9 am???
Figured I'd jus go back to the room, tripped on the torn up carpet getting off the elevator.
Should have gone to Hinckley!
During my experience at the buffet, you wait ridiculous hours for food that is mediocre.
For instance, the environment for the waiting area is always crowded and they have a terrible system for getting people in and out as quickly as possible.
The grilled sausage is ok though.
It can be a fun place on weekends.
The slots are decent and it's cleaner than some of the other casinos.
But the cobalt has no waitress service and the weekend night life stinks now because of poor management.
They used to book great bands but now they have the same few bands on rotation and a boring DJ every other weekend.
They used to play 9-1 but now it's 9-12.
So, it's 6:15 pm and my room is FINALLY ready.
Waited around for over 3 hrs after they said it would be ready!
Not impressed when we finally got in.
The fridge is warm and can't be turned up because they blocked the adjustment nob.
Tv can only be seen by one of the beds.
Coffee maker and microwave is shared by same space as bathroom sink, YUCK, just outside the very pathetic bathroom.
Literally a half inch between the toilet and the swing of the door.
Fire alarm is dangling from the ceiling.
I hear the newer tower rooms are better, but I have 2 kids who wanted poolside.
Haven't been down there yet.
I'm hoping the pool and buffet have more to offer than this room does.
First impressions make me give a one star.
This is my first time yelping, but had to do it.
I will not be returning.
I stayed here, ate at the buffet, and my dad gambled.
Here's our thoughts: We had a room at the new tower on the top floor.
We stayed 2 nights.
The water pressure in the bathroom sink was questionable, but that was probably because we were on the 12th floor.
TV was tiny, no HD.
It was more like "donate to the casino" then "spend money, win money".
Don't waste your money on the casino.
Pool was really busy, and there were a lot of kids.
After 10 PM when it's adults only, it's all right.
We moshed on that both mornings that we were there!
Overall: mediocre rooms, tight slots, excellent buffet.
Would I stay again?
Spending it on a night of gluttony in Northern Minnesota is a no-brainer!
The key here is you HAVE to stay in the Tower.
The Tower is nice, clean, modern.
The low hotel is a DUMP and they really, really need to renovate.
They shouldn't even be letting people stay in those rooms.
It seems they've upgraded their slot machines a lot since the last time I was here - lots of fun new games.
HOWEVER, I think it tends to mean tighter slots.
Gotta pay for upgrades!
The BEST thing here is the Thursday night seafood buffet.
PLUS, I'm pretty sure they had prime rib at the carving station!
Holy cats man, what a deal!!
Just make sure to watch your gambling!
The room is the only decent thing here.
I tried playing at this casino 3 times, never won anything major, this casino clearly takes your money with not a lot of turn overs.
The pool is kid central!
Guests that just want to relax?
This isn't for you.
The buffet was poor-not sure how it's the "best in Minnesota" how so??
The fried shrimp was good but that's about it.
It's just noisy here-lost a lot of money at the casino, it's only 9:00 and I'm already ready for bed, there's nothing better to do.
The worst experience we have ever had at this hotel.
Upon arrival our rooms weren't ready.
Part of our party arrived at 2:45 and we arrived at 4:00.
We reserved 4 rooms for the weekend something we have done for the last 5 years we didn't get into our rooms until 7.
Housekeeping was the problem they told us.
When we did get our rooms they still weren't properly cleaned there was garbage in one room there were sticky fingerprints all over the tv in another.
A shower curtain was missing from another and there was mold behind the toilet in another.
Check out other hotels in Area before staying here all rooms smell like smoke We stayed for a Friday and Saturday night to get together with some extended family.
The hotel rooms were fine for the most part.
I had a double poolside suite.
The sitting area was nice, but the bathroom was so small that you had to stand to the side of the toilet to close the door.
We ended up in a smoking room, even though we are non-smokers, the room did not smell of smoke at all.
Check-in staff were friendly and helpful.
However, we were not fans of the no-alcohol policy.
I realize you can go out to the casino and have a drink, but as it was a family gathering we would have liked to hang around the pool area with the kids and have a couple of drinks and snacks without having to head into the smoky casino.
One of the groups set up right in front of our hotel room door so we had to squeeze by them to get in and out of our room.
Eventually, our whole group moved into our sitting room area just to get away from the chaos.
One of our biggest frustrations was the internet service.
We could only occasionally access the wi-fi, but even when we could it was so slow that it was basically non-functional.
Of course there is not much for cell phone service in this area either so we could basically not use our phones while we were there.
As far as the restaurants go, they don't seem to have the capacity to serve the amount of people staying there.
We went to the buffet Friday evening to be told that it was an hour and half wait so we decided to head over to the deli instead.
We stood in a fairly short line for about a half hour before even being able to place our order as they had one person serving both the line in the deli and the line facing out in the bingo hall.
All together, it took about an hour to be able to even get our food.
The food was very good, though.
Breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent with no wait, but we had the same problem getting food Saturday night and ended up running into Cloquet to pick up black bear casino in minnesota pizza.
A+ for the arcade.
They have a couple packages that were a pretty good deal.
My daughter loved the staff member, Claire, that was working there and named the stuffed monkey she won there after her.
I recently stayed here for one night on a Saturday and had a great time!
Here is how I did it!
First, I made sure our room was in the new part of the casino which is called the tower.
We were at the casino for an event on a Saturday and called the day before and were lucky enough to be able to book a room in the tower.
The room was nice and clean as well as modern.
The only negative was the sink was very slow to drain.
We dined in the buffet twice, once for a late dinner after the event and once for breakfast before we headed home.
They had a great prime rib station and really delicious bbq ribs.
If you have a sweet tooth you will get your money's worth just by eating the huge variety of desserts they have.
Good thing I was still too tired to care.
The service in the casino is so so.
Everyone that helped me seemed like they would have rather been anywhere else.
And pro tip: it may seem like a good idea but don't try to get your money back from the casino by going to the black jack table 15 minutes before going home.
They mailed out a tablet I left in the room free of charge!
I checked out on Friday last week.
They found my tablet with charger and will mail it to my address free of charge since I couldn't pick it up myself.
She explained that it will take a week to arrive.
I received it today in a certified mail bubble mailer envelope.
Thank you Black Bear.
I am very grateful for this.
Will continue to be a customer for sure.
The machines here are pretty tight, however we should probably know better than to go gambling on a Saturday night.
Give me a normal sized pillow!
Also, had rooms on a non-smoking floor but the carpet wreaked of smoke.
I reserve these rooms to get away from the smoke of the casino, not to have it follow me.
We have been to Black Bear many times and have always stayed in the "new" section.
But this time, to save a little money, we stayed in the "old" section.
I wouldn't even walk around without shoes on as I was so disgusted.
I asked about changing rooms but apparently it was full.
Pay a couple extra bucks to stay in the "new" section!!!
On the bright side: the food is just ok and the casino is very clean.
Spent the night here on a weekend as we were planning on checking out the bike trails around the area and then play a round of golf at the resort's golf course, but of course the crappy Cloquet summer weather didn't let us.
Anyways, was mildly impressed with the lobby decor as we arrived, definitely fancier than most TC casinos except for Mystic Lake maybe.
I was a bit dissapointed that they only had 3 employees at the front desk during check-in time at 4 pm, so it was a bit of a wait to get checked in.
Here's where it started going downhill: I assumed we were going to be assigned to a room on the main tower didn't even know there was another building but we were sneakily placed on one of the old ass rooms on the back building and boy, did it feel like a Motel 6; nothing fancy to the room and about a 19" TV.
The bathtub didn't drain properly.
Still, the price was decent so I was willing to put up with that.
Now for the pool area: OH BOY.
There were about 400 kids in the pool and about 20 in the jacuzzi, so needless to say our idea of relaxing didn't quite pan out.
We decided to go to the sauna but surprise surprise, it only went up to about 70F.
So after all this disappointment we decided to call it quits and go have dinner more info their steakhouse, which was pretty decent.
Card tables are cheap and had a good time there.
Drinks are pretty affordable too.
Finished my night at the Deli that's open 24 hrs and while their idea of Potato Wedges wasn't quite what I expected it was more like hash brown and I was expecting something along the lines of Jack in the Box but again it was cheap enough.
The golf course looked magnificent on the TV ad they play in the hotel room; I was dissapointed we black bankrupt casino ballroom not able to play due to the weather.
Definitely want to come back to try it out.
Overall decent value for your money, if you're AAA member you get a discount on your stay.
They're new, and they're promoting themselves with discount prices, and even a visit free baba black sheep download WCCO on Thursday morning!
We got a great deal, and decided to give it a try.
The facilities…" Tim B.
Stopped for one night.
Front desk person Ben was polite and personable.
Kids had fun in pool area.
Beds were very comfortable.
Breakfast https://filmman.ru/black/mills-black-beauty-slot-machine.html your usual hotel food, but good.
As good as it gets!
Would stay again but nothing to rave about.

I realize you can go out to the casino and have a drink, but as it was a family gathering we would have liked click to see more hang around the pool area with the kids and have a couple of drinks and snacks without having to head into the smoky casino.
One of the groups set up right in front of our you black gold slot machine opinion room door so we had to squeeze by them to get in and out of our room.
Breakfast buffet in the morning was excellent with no wait, but we had the same problem getting food Saturday night and ended up running into Cloquet to pick up some pizza.
A+ for the arcade.
They have a couple packages that were a pretty good deal.
My daughter loved the staff member, Claire, that was working there and named the stuffed monkey she won there after her.

Give me a normal sized pillow!
Also, had rooms on a non-smoking floor but the carpet wreaked of smoke.
I reserve these rooms to get away from the smoke of the casino, not to have it follow me.

Here's where it started going downhill: I assumed we were going to be assigned to a room on the main tower didn't even know there was another building but we were sneakily placed black bear casino in minnesota one of the old ass rooms on the back building and boy, did it feel like a Motel 6; nothing fancy to the room and about a 19" TV.
So after all this disappointment we decided to call it quits and go have dinner at their steakhouse, which was pretty decent.
The golf course looked magnificent on the TV ad they play in the hotel room; I was dissapointed we were not able to play due to the weather.
Definitely want to come back to try it out.
Overall decent value for your money, if you're AAA member you get a discount on your stay.

We stay at Black Bear a couple times a year but that may be changing. This last time was absolutely horrible. Our two room "suite" was disgusting the only reason we stayed and almost didn't was the kids were really looking forward to the pool and arcade.

I live in st Paul black bear was about 1 hour and a half away. We arrived got the room which was your basic smoking room nice and spacious had a reclining chair. It was a little run down but not so bad. However, there was not much of a diverse crowd but it was overall a good atmosphere. Got food from the 24/7 deli which was pretty bomb !
